I guess when you've been living in a house for more than 10 years, there's bound to be maintenance or it falls apart.
Someone once said
You know when your neighbourhood is considered old, when you have flocks of birds flying home every evening.Mum explained that it's because birds will only nest in full grown trees. So yea, trees takes ages to grow, concluding that your neighbourhood does indeed falls into the 'old' category.
Anyway, when the garden tap leaks, the lights flicker like disco and the alarm battery goes ko. Dad gets into action.
He's the handyman of sorts. XD
Since this is the second time the alarm battery koed. He had seen how it was done the first time, and figured this time, he can just replace it himself and save both time and money.
Next was one of my room's light. It totally....died. >.> Once again, dad dropped by the DIY shop in Taipan and got it working in no time. =3
The tap thing was yesterday. I noticed it in the morning when I had to drop my bro to college. Clueless as I am, I figured we could let it leak into a pail until dad returns. So I did.
He came back and went again to the DIY, to get another tap head. Took our his toolbox and fixed it real fast.
We went out for dinner just now and returned to find the living room's light like a disco. On, off, on, off....*repeats the whole process*
Dad again knew the drill.
Gosh, I love my dad so much. =3
He knows just about how to fix the mini minor things at home. Because he takes the time to learn about them whenever an electrician, plumber. etc drops by. Or he used to ask the old man at another DIY shop in Taipan, but it's now closed. He actually enjoys learning new things. It's a pity, he's stuck in office instead of doing something with his hands, because I know he enjoys having hands on experience.
This probably explains why, my dad has a very complete set of tools and toolsbox. Yeps. Nats, bolts, screws, screwdrivers, saws, spannar whatever-ever the barang he has them. ^^;
You know, my bro could learn a thing or two if he bothers. Except that he doesn't. *crash*
