that 5 minutes of difference

Bratty here.

Serena gave up a trip with close friends for the weekend that was planned ages back for a chance to explore a career fair held the same weekend. Sitting around was getting to her and rather demotivating as well.

So it was a nice surprise to have company for the fair in form of a close friend's bro who recently graduated and looking for a job, to tag along.

The fair was interesting, helped gave her some pointers on her resume and expectations of the market and employers' point of view.

So after some 2 hours of browsing, they both decided to call it a day and head home to grab lunch.

The sky was clear and weather was beautiful when she had drove her friend's sibling home, which was about 5 minutes away from her place.

That 5 minutes made all the difference, for the moment she was reaching home, splitter splatter came the rain. And poured it did.

Serena had to park outside, a little distance away since the porch was occupied. Grabbed her umbrella and bags for that short walk to the gate.

Upon reaching, only to realise, she had left her house keys inside the car. WAYLT, dear.

Serena tried calling for mummy dearest to open the gates for her, but it was pouring so badly, that the rain was rather noisy and so mummy dearest didn't hear a thing.

A few minutes of calling and making havoc outside the gates under the rain, clutching am umbrella and juggling 2 bags, she decided to return back to her car to collect that darnit set of keys.

Serena finally made it inside the house and took a breather to report to mummy dearest and to complain how she was all wet and no one heard her.

After about 10 minutes or so talking, she realised that rain had stopped and the sky was all clear and bright again. The short shower had passed just like that.

In her words, 'I feel like I kena pranked'
