Nicknames

Personal musings goes here? =P

Nicknames. Almost everyone gets one at a point in their life. From the family, relatives, and friends. The people whom you know mostly, are the one who comes up with the nicks. hahaha XD

I can hear snorting and snickerings. >.>

I have quite a collection of them. No really, I have NO idea how it keeps popping out. kyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaa~ But well, it's worth pondering over them.

To start off, Chinese families like using the last name, because it's mostly the easiest to remember I suppose. Hence, I'm usually Ling or Ah Ling or Siew Ling in the house and among relatives. Unless of course you have another 3 female cousins on your paternal side of the family all with 'Leng' or 'Ling' as their last names. Then it gets confusing >.>

Which I do. LoL.

Somehow there's this tradition thing, so since my dad is the eldest son of the family and I'm the first grandaughter of the sons, bla bla....My last name gets to be followed by the rest of daughters from my uncles. Muahahaha! XD

Anyway, other than that, Yeh Yeh, my grandpa, likes calling me, LingABird. Hey, don't laugh....I have no idea how to spell that <.< I practically grew up at my paternal grandparents so naturally, I'm quite close to them. Yeah, until mum kindly informed me that she came up with that nick when I was a baby and she was singing lullabies. O__o haha XD

Right, mum loves nicknames and comes up with a randam one for my doggie on a constant basis. XD

Moving on....another common nick is Siew Pau. >.> Yes, it's a type of food. hhhaaiiiii I totally forgot who started calling me that. And it's still stuck up to today >.< Ching usually calls me that nowadays. Or Pau Pau.

I recall Rashimah from back in Form 1 Damai, calling me Air Suling O__o

Jie Ying used to call me PauChai...small pau? =_= No idea...but she calls me back in Form 4, when we meet up for recess or before classes begins in the morning.

Oh yeah....and brattysheep. It all started when Nadirah got me interested in Fruits Basket back in Form 4 Jujur. Later, I did some online quiz thing and got Hiro, the sheep zodiac or jyuunishi. By some wonderful flash of creativity, Mintos and Reiki came up with BS....BrattySheep.

Somehow that evolved over time....don't ask me...ask THEM. Into MM or MetalMesh

And then Sheepiroth turned up. >.> A pun from the long haired hottie in FF7. It just popped up during one of our nightly random chats on msn. *sighs*

An occasional LambChop from Shen, who keeps insisting on eating me. Rabid hamsters do not eat sheeps. Duh~! ohoho~

Latest and last one, (I intend to make sure this is THE LAST one, k?) Ayane switched to calling me.....Siew Pau Pau on the icebox forum. O_____O

Why are my nicknames all centered around sheeps and paus.......? I totally have NO idea. Seriously, it just grew somehow....watered with random bursting seeds of creativity. =O

PS: If I catch any of you spreading my nicks around (other than the people who already know), you're dead. So DEAD, you hear me? >D
